Our Story
Founding ADSN
"As a medical doctor migrating to the United Kingdom, I was eagerly looking to connect with other colleagues to understand what it is like to be an Adventist Doctor in the UK and to learn firsthand from colleagues about the health care system. Visiting various churches and events, did not bring me closer to my goal and I continued to feel the void. As I continued to pray I was impressed on various occasions to start an organisation. As an adventurous person, I kept seeking counsel from the Lord and in 2019 the impression became so strong that I knew I had to heed the call, and after much research, along with conversation with other colleagues; the Adventist Doctors' Support Network was established." - Elsa Charles, Founding President, July 27th, 2020.
Our estimates suggest there could be over 200 Adventist doctors and medical students in the United Kingdom. There has been a great need to have an organisation where Adventist medical professionals and upcoming medical professionals can come together to support, network and grow in their careers and faith.
About Us
Adventist Doctors’ Support Network aims to empower its members to share their faith in their workplaces and communities through sharing experiences with one another, providing training and creating local action teams. The network also aims to support the Adventist Church community in their health evangelism efforts, through advice and more.
The Adventist Doctors Support Network (ADSN) is a new and growing non-profit organisation founded providentially in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. ADSN exists to support Seventh-day Adventist doctors and medical students by providing regular meetings where professionals can connect, pray and encourage one another; share resources for personal, spiritual and career development; and ultimately be inspired to share the love of Christ, the Greatest Physician, in their workplaces and communities.

Our Beliefs
We believe that as Adventist medical doctors and students in the United Kingdom our role is to continue the discsipleship work of our Lord Jesus Christ by means of the right arm of the gospel. In this we support one another and our patients through teaching and demonstrating health and healthful living and so sharing hope and the knowledge of the Greatest Healer.
As Seventh-day Adventist members, we uphold the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The work of ADSN is supported by the British Union Conference Evangelism Department. We are grateful to have Dr Kirk Thomas as our chaplain.
